Tonic Polish: Spring 2017 Collection, May Babies Duo, & Femme Fatale Collab

Monday, May 08, 2017 Unknown 0 Comments

Hey y'all! I'm a day late with this one, but today I've got a ton of swatches from Tonic Polish restock that happened yesterday. So while I might be a day late I do have some good news! At the time of writing this everything is still in stock! So without further adieu let's get on with the swatches for the 2017 Spring Collection, May Babies Duo, and the Tonic half of the Femme Fatale Duo.

First up is the 2017 Spring Collection!

Aurora Sunrise is an orchid leaning pink jelly with a strong turquoise to purple shifting shimmer and ultra holo microglitters. Such a gorgeous, sparkly pink! Tonic Polishes are all on the thicker side (I'm not repeating that for every one), but I don't find this effects my application at all. This was silky smooth application and is opaque in three coats. If you don't mind a teeny tiny bit of visible nail line two coats will suffice for this one. Shown below is three coats finished off with a glossy top coat of Tonic Topper.

Deep Sea-crets is a a bright turquoise cream with a peachy-pink to yellow shifting shimmer. This one reminds me of the crystal clear waters you'd find down in the Caribbean. Silky smooth application and opaque in two coats. This one is a bit of a fast drying one and it dries to a satiny finish. Shown below is three coats finished off with a glossy top coat of Tonic Topper.

Endless Shrimp is a soft coral cream with a pale green shimmer. This shimmer was so freaking hard to capture on camera. This one is just like Deep Sea-crets with being a quick drier and having a satin finish. Easy application and opaque in two coats. Shown below is three coats finished off with a glossy top coat of Tonic Topper.

Foxfire is a metallic rose gold to yellow gold multichrome with a scattered holographic finish. This is such a gorgeous polish. Soft, yet metallic and full of sparkle. Silky smooth application and easily opaque in two coats. Shown below is three coats finished off with a glossy top coat of Tonic Topper.

I Pink You Blue Me Off is a bright blue cream with a pink to yellow shifting shimmer. This is also a quick drying, satiny finisher. Easy application and opaque in two coats. Shown below is three coats finished off with a glossy top coat of Tonic Topper.

Titanium Orchid is a member of the "lumichrome" family, which includes colors like Incandescent, Luminescent, and Greenglow. It's a pale metallic multichrome that shifts from cool lavender to peach to gold with a scattered holographic finish. This has an interestingly delicate, soft feel to it for being a metallic. Silky smooth application and opaque in two coats. Shown below is three coats finished off with a glossy top coat of Tonic Topper.

Okay so that's it for the Spring Collection, let's do the May Babies Duo next! This is in honor of Lindsey's son Nico who turns four in May! His favorite color is green, the May birthstone is the Emerald, and one of their favorite books to read together is "Oh, the Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss. This is a limited edition for this release, but they will be making a comeback in the future!

The Places You'll Go is an emerald green base with green to blue to purple to pink to gold shifting multichrome shimmer. This is sheer on the first coat but builds very quickly! This would be opaque enough for some people at two coats, but I preferred three. Excellent application and like I said builds easily to opacity. This is similar to Dragons at Dusk but it's different, I plan on doing a comparison post soon. I'll update this with the link when I do. Shown below is three coats finished off with a glossy top coat of Tonic Topper.

You'll Move Mountains is a beautiful glowing green. That's it. Just a gorgeous, perfectly glowing, emerald green. Easy application and fully opaque in two coats. Shown below is three coats finished off with a glossy top coat of Tonic Topper.

Last, but not least, we have the Tonic half of the Four Seasons Collaboration. This quartet was inspired by Vivaldi's violin concertos and Lindsey and Sophie each chose seasons to model their colors after.

Bleeding Heart Sunset was inspired by the intense, sultry heat of the Summer concerto. It's an orchid-lavender base with a strong, glowing pink multichrome shimmer that shifts from peach to gold with a scattered holo finish.

Promise of Spring was inspired by the fresh, lighthearted playfulness of the Spring concerto. It's a pale metallic yellow-green lumichrome that shifts to mint green and blue with a scattered holo finish. Soft, delicate and easily application that's opaque in two coats. Shown below is three coats finished off with a glossy top coat of Tonic Topper.

Whew! Okay, so that was a ton of gorgeous swatches! These are all beautiful polishes that I'd say would be happy and at home in anyone's collection. Like I said in the beginning of this post, this restock went live yesterday, but everything is still available at the time of posting this. Also, while you're there I'd highly recommend grabbing some Tonic Topper because to be completely honest it's one of my favorites. The "Four Seasons" Collaborations can be found at either the Tonic Website or the Femme Fatale Australian Website.

Glam Polish: Dance With Dragons Collection

Friday, May 05, 2017 Unknown 0 Comments

Hey guys! It's been a while, yeah? I'm sorry for that, I'm honestly just burnt out from life. It's been far too long since I've taken a vacation from everything, but the good news is that I'm fixing that next week! So, I know I haven't blogged in almost a month (ahhhh!) but I have been working on swatches  behind the scenes like a crazy woman. So definitely expect to see a pick up in blog activity during May. :)

Anyway! Today we're back with another Glam Polish collection! The Dance with Dragons Collection is inspired by the amazing series Game of Thrones and the whole collection is breathtaking! Multichromes with holo and glitter and flakies, oh my!

The Bear and the Maiden Fair is a pink to red to copper multichrome with red to gold shifting glitter, shifting iridescent glitter, ultra holo glitter, and fine holographic glitter. This is one of the ones you'll see a ton of shift in and I love it! Applied smoothly and was opaque in two coats. I do three just because that's my preference and I feel the color pops more with that extra coat. The glitter in this doesn't cause any removal issues, it comes off very easily. Shown below is three coats with a glossy top coat.

The Dance of Dragons
is a green to blue to red multichrome with green to purple shifting glitter, ultra holo glitter, iridescent shifting glitter, and a fine holo microglitter. There are a few in this collection that I really, really love and this is one of them. There's just something about that green/blue/red/purple/pink shift that does me in. This one applied smoothly too and is also opaque in two coats with no removal issues. Shown below is three coats with a glossy top coat.

Dark Wings, Dark Things is a sapphire to violet to red multichrome with shifting multichrome flakies, iridescent shifting glitter, and fine holo microglitter. This one is one of the more subtle shifts in the collection, though still quite noticeable in the proper lighting. Much harder to capture all the shifts in one shot on camera though. This, like the others, applies smoothly and is opaque in two coats with no removal issues. Shown below is three coats plus a glossy top coat. Side note: I know it looks like it's a bit textured in the pictures but it's really not.

Kissed by Fire is a red to gold to copper multichrome with red to gold shifting microglitter, ultra holo glitter, shifting iridescent glitter, and fine holo microglitter. Love this one! Such a gorgeous coppery color. Smooth application and opaque in two coats. Shown below is three coats with a glossy top coat.

The Lion and the Rose is a red to violet to green to gold multichrome with shifting multichrome flakies, shifting iridescent glitter, and fine holo microglitter. Love, love, love this one! So sparkly, so shifty! Silky smooth application and opaque in two coats. Shown below is three coats with a glossy top coat.

Mother's Mercy is a purple to violet to green multichrome with shifting multichrome flakies, shifting iridescent glitter, and fine holo microglitter. Love the purple and the violet together in this one! Another silky smooth application that's also opaque in two coats. Shown below is three with a glossy top coat.

The Mountain and the Viper is a  sapphire to cyan to green multichrome with multichrome shifting flakies, blue to red shifting microglitter, ultra holo glitter, and fine holographic microglitter. This one reminds me of vivid blue lakes deeply set back in the forest. Excellent application and opaque in two coats. Shown below is three coats with a glossy top coat.

Rains of Castamere is a violet to blue to red multichrome with red to blue shifting microglitter, ultra holo glitter, and fine holographic microglitter. This is another one that's a bit of a more subtle shifter, at least between the purple and the blue. The red is pretty easy to see. Easy application and opaque in two coats. Shown below is three coats with a glossy top coat.

The Wars to Come is a cyan to blue to violet sheer multichrome base with a mix of shifting multichrome flakies, fine holographic glitter, and a hint of shifting iridescent microglitter. Okay, so this one is my favorite of the collection. Love the shift, love the finish, and I'm totally in love with the macro. I was the personification of the heart eye emoji while photographing/editing this one. Silky smooth application and opaque in two coats. Shown below is three with a glossy top coat.

Winds of Winter is a cyan to blue to purple to red multichrome with shifting iridescent glitter, ultra holo glitter, and fine holographic microglitter. I think this one might be my second favorite in the collection, love the shift with the shifting glitter. Excellent application and opaque in two coats. Shown below is three coats with a glossy top coat.

What do you think?! I'm in love, but I'm probably biased because multichromes are my favorite finish at the moment. These are currently available on the Glam website and for the first 96 hours the full set is available at the special price of $108! After that it will be the regular retail price of $120. So which one is your favorite? Let me know in the comments!
